Rihanna Shoulder Tattoos

Rihanna her shoulder showcases a birthdate written in Roman numerals. Additionally, a camouflage shark adorns her ankle.

Interestingly, she has two Chris Brown-related tattoos: one of his name and another of a star they both got in 2008.

Roman numerals

Rihanna’s body is a canvas for her art. Some designs are complex, while others are simpler, yet all contribute to her unique aesthetic.

One of her prominent tattoos is on her shoulder. It’s a Roman numeral design, with her name integrated into each numeral. This bold tattoo is not only eye-catching but also makes a strong statement.

On her right ankle, she wears another tattoo. It’s the number 1988, representing her birth year. This was one of her first tattoos, a significant reminder of her past.

One of her standout tattoos is the inverted phrase, “Never a Failure, Always a Lesson.” This tattoo constantly reminds her of the importance of self-improvement and perseverance.

Music notes

Fans may have noticed the music notes inked on Rihanna’s shoulder, believed to be her first tattoos, added back in 2006.

This design represents her love for music and her beginnings in the music industry.

Besides this, Rihanna also has an animal-related tattoo on her foot – a falcon. This particular tattoo covers up the 2006 music notes.

Musical notes carry different values, depicted by an oval head with an attached stem and flags. These symbols reflect the duration of notes and serve as a reminder of the importance of music in her life.

Skull with bow

In 2008, Rihanna got her first colored tattoo in Miami, showcasing a skull with a bow. This tattoo symbolizes a blend of sweetness and femininity.

Interestingly, she covered up her initial ankle tattoo of music notes with a falcon design.

Rihanna’s go-to artist, Bang Bang, suggested this spot for the tattoo, considering it could be easily concealed with jewelry when necessary.

Stars

One of Rihanna’s most recognized tattoos is a cascade of stars, reaching from her neck to her shoulders. Designed by Bang Bang, this tattoo was added in 2008 and could symbolize her zodiac sign, Pisces, or reflect her spiritual beliefs.

Moreover, she has several small tattoos on her hand, including a Henna-like dragon claw design with hibiscus flower details and a semi-permanent “Thug Life” tattoo by Mark Mahoney.

Interestingly, Rihanna and her close friend Melissa Forde have the same tattoo design on their left shoulders, signifying their deep bond.

Rihanna’s new tattoo was first spotted in January of 2012, and the singer was quick to share a picture on Twitter. The image, which looks like a handgun, is a replica of the Egyptian goddess Nefertiti. The artist, Bang, is known for most of his work. The design originally was a small cluster of stars on the nape of the neck. Since then, he has added more stars and a heart to the design.
