Sepsis can make your lymph nodes swell. Lymph nodes are small organs that fight infections and cancer cells. Swollen lymph nodes can mean serious infections but can also be harmless.

Some infections are mild and local. You can use antihistamines or anti-itch medicines for rashes.

Some infections are severe and widespread. They can cause fever, bloody urine, fast heart rate, or fast breathing rate. These are signs of sepsis or septicemia (blood poisoning). If your tattoo has any of these signs, immediately visit a doctor or emergency room.
