New tattoo aftercare

Your tattoo artist will apply a bandage over your new tattoo and give instructions for when and how long to leave it on to prevent infections.

Cleansing your new tattoo is important; use unscented antibacterial soap and rinse until your skin feels clean after each wash. After patting dry with a clean towel, apply Sanibalm to keep the skin moisturized.

Use moisturizer two to three times a day until scabs fall off. Avoid products with perfumes, chemicals, or petroleum jelly. Be careful when applying aftercare products to not catch on scabs.

Keep your tattoo covered until it’s time to remove the bandage. If you must touch it, make sure your hands are clean. Wait until scabs have formed before scratching or rubbing. Avoid running a razor over your tattoo or using hair removal products.

Wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap, pat it dry, and apply a light layer of Sanibalm after removing the bandage. Avoid over-moisturizing and use mild, alcohol-free moisturizers. Follow your tattoo artist’s instructions and maintain a balanced diet for optimal healing.
