How to Wash Your Tattoo Correctly

1. Clean Your Hands First

Once your tattoo is wrapped, wash the area morning and evening with clean, lukewarm water and quality soap. Avoid submerging the tattoo directly underwater. Instead, cup your hand around it and pour water gently. After washing, rub the tattoo gently with mild soap, rinse off, and pat dry with a paper towel.

2. Wash Your Tattoo

Cleanse your tattoo twice daily with antibacterial soap. Wet the skin, gently rub with antibacterial soap, rinse well, and pat dry with paper towels. Avoid submerging the tattoo in water sources and limit exercise and sun exposure during healing. Apply antibacterial ointment and moisturizer after washing.

3. Dry Your Tattoo

Blot-dry the tattoo with a clean paper towel to avoid cross-contamination. Use clean hands when touching the tattoo to prevent spreading germs. Dab the tattoo gently to avoid excessive bleeding or scabbing. Apply mild, fragrance-free hand lotion to facilitate healing after the tattoo has dried.

4. Moisturize

Moisturize your tattoo after washing to prevent dryness. Use fragrance-free lotion or aftercare ointment sparingly. Apply moisturizer twice daily using gentle rubbing motions. Use mild, all-natural soap before bed, rinse well, and pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
