1. Keep it clean
Tattoos are open wounds, so they must be cared for daily. Use hypoallergenic soap and warm water to wash the area before patting it dry. Avoid scratching or picking at scabs.
2. Keep it moisturized
After washing and drying your tattoo, apply a light moisturizer without harsh chemicals or fragrances. Hydrate your skin by drinking plenty of water. Use tattoo-friendly lotions with SPF protection when exposed to the sun.
3. Don’t get it wet
Avoid activities that can wet your tattoo and increase the risk of infection. Use a clean paper towel or cloth to clean the area if necessary. Pat it dry and avoid rubbing or using lotion.
4. Don’t rewrap it
Avoid wrapping your tattoo, as it can create an environment for bacteria. Before bed, wash and apply a moisturizing cream. After several days, scabs will naturally shed off in the shower.
5. Don’t rush it
Understand that each tattoo heals differently due to various factors. Itching is normal, but avoid scratching to prevent infection or ink fading. Give it time to heal correctly.
