Tattoo Aftercare – How to Care For Your New Tattoo

Day One

– Washwash gently with antibacterial, fragrance-free soap in warm water to remove the coveringater.

– Apply a small amount of unscented lotion or tattoo ointment 2-3 times daily.

– Avoid over-applying to prevent scabbing.

Cleanse

– Use mild, unscented soap and water to cleanse the tattoo.

– Consider sleeping on something old to avoid staining.

– Use clean towels or lint-free paper to remove clear plasma buildup.

Moisturize

– Treat Tattoos like open wounds and moisturize regularly.

– Use a tattoo-friendly lotion without a greasy residue.

– Hydrate both before and after getting tattooed.

Apply Vaseline/Antibacterial Ointment

– Avoid using Vaseline, which can embed into wounds and suffocate the tattoo.

– Use water-based lotions without petroleum jelly.

– Consider using Sebamed Extreme Dry Skin Repair Lotion or Bepanthen diaper care ointment.

Cover Up

– Your artist will apply antibiotic ointment and a bandage after the appointment.

– Remove the covering, wash gently, and pat dry.

– Apply fragrance- and alcohol-free lotion.
