Moisturize
– Treat Tattoos like open wounds and moisturize regularly.
– Use a tattoo-friendly lotion without a greasy residue.
– Hydrate both before and after getting tattooed.
Apply Vaseline/Antibacterial Ointment
– Avoid using Vaseline, which can embed into wounds and suffocate the tattoo.
– Use water-based lotions without petroleum jelly.
– Consider using Sebamed Extreme Dry Skin Repair Lotion or Bepanthen diaper care ointment.
Cover Up
– Your artist will apply antibiotic ointment and a bandage after the appointment.
– Remove the covering, wash gently, and pat dry.
– Apply fragrance- and alcohol-free lotion.
