Rappers With Face Tattoos

Rappers often tattoo their faces for various reasons, such as to tell a story, represent their crew, family, or gang affiliation, or to display artwork. With trap music’s rise and the “SoundCloud rap” phenomenon, face tattoos have become more visible than ever in the industry. Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and Trippie Redd are just a few celebrities known to rock them.

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is a rapper with numerous tattoos on his face. Some are subtle, while others are overt. One of the most prominent is a Deathwish Skateboards logo that sits below his eye, followed by Baker Skateboards’ “Baked” logo hanging off his forehead. Recently, he has added two tattoos to his chest: on the left, a Power symbol and an anchor symbol. The Power symbol is a widely-used icon in hip-hop, and many artists utilize it. This particular sign often conveys feelings of anger or aggression.

Gang Connections and Media Attention

In the early 2000s, face tattoos became popular among rappers; most had gang connections. This image of tough-looking rappers with tattoos garnered much media attention and helped sell their records. Although not all rappers fit this stereotype, most seemed content to play up and even got in trouble for having tattoos. Some of the most popular rappers with face tattoos include Birdman and Game, two renowned artists with gang connections who both had tattoos that showed this affiliation. Rappers often get facial tattoos; some even have teardrops drawn under their eyes to symbolize gang affiliation or death. Unfortunately, these designs can also represent violence within the community.

Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane is a well-known rapper with numerous face tattoos. This cone features three scoops and “brrr” written across it.

Unique Tattoos and Hobbies

The rapper sports some unique tattoos as well. A mic on his stomach and “Icy” written in ink on the side of his chest stand out. In addition to his unique tattoos, he also sports some other amazing designs on him. A large letter G represents his stage name, and a small logo on his hand. He also wears a tattoo on the right side of his neck featuring a scene from a boat sailing in the sea – one of his favorite hobbies.

Trippie Redd

Trippie Redd is one of the newest artists to gain popularity in hip-hop. Since then, he’s released two mixtapes and his debut album; Life’s a Trip which reached number 4 on Billboard 200. He has a unique style, mixing cloud rap, emo rap, and trap music elements with punk and metal influences. He credits artists such as Drake, Kiss, and Nirvana as his primary sources of inspiration.

Symbolic Face Tattoos

The rapper proudly displays a 14 between his eyebrows and on his neck, along with two additional numbers, 1400 and 800, which he believes symbolize the street he grew up on. Additionally, these numerical representations convey spiritual significance for him since 14 is believed to be an angelic number. In addition to the number 14, he wears an inverted Celtic cross on his right forearm. According to him, this symbolism represents Satanism and occult influences and has religious significance for him. On his left palm, he displays an All-Seeing Eye with TR 666 around it. This means the electron, proton, and neutron count for people with dark skin. He also has two stars tattooed on his left cheek as a reminder of the warriors in his favorite anime, Kill la Kill.

Lil Pump

His single ‘Gucci Gang’ from his self-titled debut album went viral, prompting the release of his sophomore effort ‘Harvard Dropout’ in 2019. He also sports an ‘Angry yellow chicken’ tattoo on his left forearm and a ‘Tiny violet hearts’ tattoo on his left leg as part of his ‘Lil Skies’ face tattoo set.
