If you’re getting a tattoo, one of the first things you’re likely to notice is that the skin around the ink will start peeling. This is a natural process, and it will keep your ink looking fresh and new for a few weeks. The first few days of peeling may be slick, shiny, and even a little brighter than before, but don’t worry, it’s completely normal.
You may have already noticed some peeling after getting a new tattoo. During this phase, the ink will start to push up into the upper layers of skin, making it look dull and scaly.
